Improving the web… for developers
Some good news… for us… as bespoke software developers of web based software systems.
Browser compatibly issues have long since been an active issue ever since we starting developing software solutions for the web.
Whilst we endeavour to develop our bespoke software solutions to adhere to a set of web standards, we occasionally come across problems of interoperability between web browsers and web development technologies. This has mainly been the fault of the major browser makers, Apple, Google, Microsoft and Mozilla, all doing ‘things’ slightly differently with regard to their interpretation of those web standards.
We believe web applications should look and behave the same regardless of the web browser, device or operating system being used. This is also now the view of the big players in the web browser industry who have jointly created Interop 2022 with the aim of fixing differences in the way web standards are implemented.
Whilst Interop 2022, as of writing, is the newest initiative, this process actually started back in 2019 by Mozilla and Google. It’s good to see the other web browser developers are now on board with improving development for the web.
