Keith Walton Brickwork, based in Nelson near Burnley Lancashire, are a highly experienced masonry company that specialises in large scale builds. They have completed many high-profile commercial, residential, educational and public sector projects across Greater Manchester and the North West.

Keith Walton Brickwork had been using a Microsoft Access solution for many years, however, making updates and maintaining an ageing Microsoft Windows system was proving problematic. An initial no obligation meeting with CBS was held where business critical features of the existing software were discussed along with where the client wanted to take the project. CBS made suggestions and recommendations and highlighted the benefits of a web based software solution. Existing software projects were demonstrated which further gave Keith Walton Brickwork ideas for their project and the future. Shortly after the meeting CBS Solutions LTD were commissioned to develop a new bespoke, web based, software system.

The core function of the new bespoke software is to track project progress, including usage of materials and employee time. A unique feature of this solution is the use of data connected tablets on-site to facilitate the data entry of employee timesheets and the traking of materials used. Reporting on this information was deemed critical – the software solution also includes a large number of other business management functions.

Development was iterative with regular virtual progress meetings over Zoom where the software and its features were demonstrated with feedback given from the client.
